New Detector for 2016
I've seen a bit of a hint there is a new detector coming out this year. That's a worry for the 7000 owners
It'll be called the GPA (A coz Z was the end of the alphabet) 8500
Anyone heard anything about it
Might need an excavator to dig ya holes if the tests are correct

Re: New Detector for 2016
I, for one, am prepared to dig to the centre of the earth, if there is a retirement nugget at the end of it! I am pondering a tungsten tipped pick with a small hyrogen bomb to assist.

Retirement Nugget ? NO WAY
I enjoyed paying near $11K for a machine that has found a .1 and a .4 nuggie
Maybe my sore back has something to with the dreams of digging out the big one
Bring on the new machine, I'll pay $20K for it NOT

Re: New Detector for 2016
There is both a down side and an up side to the release of a new detector this year, the down side is that people who paid $10+ grand for a gpz7000 are going to lose a lot of money if they want to trade or sell one, and the up side is that people who want to buy one still will be able to buy one for what they were really worth in the first place $5-6 grand.
Based on the "booming silence" of the touters of the gpz7000 being the "ducks guts" and the detector to beat all other detectors bla bla bla , the new release might not attract such avid attention, what's the saying "once bitten twice shy"
Anyway will wait and see if the new machine lives up to the hype this time round.

Re: New Detector for 2016
I need strengh to get me through all this ballyhoo
about new detectors, sensational claims etc.
I am leaving for Kalbarri, a pleasant town where all exaggeration is unknown - I think.
I'll just sit there in the sun at the Murchison and prepare myself for the mighty task of uncovering the BIG ONE with the 5000, while you guys with the 7000 ponder the fastly disappearing potential buyers of your ' super machines'. Mind you, if the worst comes to the worst, you can always drag yourselves out into the open and dig a few sub-grammers!
PS: No harm intended; just having a go at you; could it be envy?

Stirring the pot can be quite advantageous at times:
Especially true when the substance in question is on the point of burning!
Just a thought that came to my head whilst preparing breakfast.

Re: New Detector for 2016
I never have baked beans on toast in the morning, I forget to stir the pot
And I always burn the toast and the bacon
I hate burnt toast and even worse if the bacon is overdone and then it goes in the bin

Re: New Detector for 2016
I, generally speaking, prevent it from burning in time, but being in a rush, spill some and create a combustion elsewhere! I now soak the beans overnight and steam them in the morning. And instead of the bacon, I have a hard boiled egg.
Come to think of it - That's quite a turnaround from a new potential detector!

Re: New Detector for 2016
I sincerely hope you like your boiled eggs they are good for you. They do create a combustion if you eat too many.

Re: New Detector for 2016
Beans and boiled eggs can have a powerful physiological effect; but it does have a positive consequence on the bleeding hitchhikers: flies! The blasts not only disrupts their timings of attack - it also confuses them to the point of not knowing whether they are coming or going; and, to think of it, it does have a tendency to drive us forward in the direction of more gold. After all, isn't this what it is all about?
New detectors, beans and eggs, combustions, being propelled forward, and, finally.......Gold!
The universe ist just great!
Maybe not so great for our immediate mates nearby, but hey - you cant win them all!!
