Re: new 14 mono ctek
Is that the new Camo coloured one that I was told about at Prospectors Pick?, if so they said it will be available here in April, not much other information on it as yet, apparently something new in the wiring configuration?.

Me too Martin, should go well on that (2ft-4ft) depth section with the 5k top 2ft is drying up these days.

Re: new 14 mono ctek
I have had a bit of a look about for more information on this coil, but there's not a lot of information to be had, 14" coils have for a long time been the most popular sized coil for general use.
So there no surprise that the 7000 came out with this coil as its basic size, I recall Bruce Candy saying in an interview some years back that a 15" coil is the optimum size coil for use on minelab pi detectors.
On the coiltek site it says this coil is suitable for use on all minelab models from the sd to the gpx, so if the configuration is something new then it could prove to be an interesting addition.

Re: new 14 mono ctek
Might even give Trevor at CT a call tomorrow for a long needed catch-up chat.
Your right au-fever, there's not much info/gossip around the traps about this coil release
at the mo, probably due to the 7k release fever maybe.
As soon as i hopefully hear more info i'll post it on this thread.

Available April 2015?
Wonder what the New innovative mono configuration is?
It's not going to be the same as the 7000 because that's a DOD.

Re: new 14 mono ctek
Hi guys and gals
Was lucky enough borrow the test coil from Finders Keepers for a few hours on Thursday 14th, yesterday.
I went out to a pushed area that I had previously been to about a month ago.
On start up I noticed straight away that this coil ran quieter and I was able to increase the gain to the max.
Still too noisy to get out of enhance but a lot more stable.
I started where I found a 0.8 g nugget on my previous trip.
3m away I got a signal and to my surprise out popped my first 0.5 g nugget around 3" deep.
It gave off a definite signal, though not too loud.
What is surprising is my mate went over the entire area with his 2300 the same day a month ago for only 2 small nuggets.
I ended up with 6 in 3.5 hrs from 0.2 to 0.9 and only down 3".
Very impressed with this coil.
Photos to follow when I get them off my phone.
Cheers
Norm
