Jasper on Geo Maps

Hi guys just wondering what geo on a map would tell me where jasper is (or jasper bars)? I believe its a coloured kind of chert.

Would I look for BIF geology or CHERT geology. Some maps seem to have both of these types. Or am I looking for something different again.
