Can anybody help with areas worthy of a detect around Sandstone ?????
We are currently in Meeka and are leaving here bound for Sandstone on Monday, from there we will make our way to Menzies on the dirt road and onward to Kal.
We have been in Meeka for about 10 days and have found 3 bits for 3 grams, so pretty happy but done a lot of ground for those 3 bits, wish we had an outlet for lead and tin, we, like most of you, would be bloody rich lmao
Well take care all
Happy hunting

Hi Steve, too bloody hot up there at the moment we are heading up to Cue end of this month so hope its a bit cooler then. Sandstone I;ve only been there once last year did,nt find any yella, If your going down the Menzies road there are plenty of old workings all along there you could stop and have a swing. Goodluck.

Was out there late last year...

If your heading in from Paynes Find there is plenty of good looking ground on he way in on both sides of the road. The thing is a lot of the ground close to town looks good, but the big flat footy fields of ground will fool you and all the easterners for hours walking in circles.

We did better south of town about 10 km or so.

Forget the 6 Mile, everyone tries to head in there to their detriment. There's an angry character in there beware!

Believe it or not, we heard from the servo guy in town, the locals we saw with 20" coils no further than 20ft from the road verge did way better than us! (they were beeping literally on the road verge, on downhill alluvial wash from the towns original old diggings)

Oh, don't forget to give the German Backpacker chick at the pub/general store a wink on the way through lwkgthgt

If you want a real taste of the area, you gotta stay a night or two at the pub/council caravan park... Some real desperate characters prowl that place and would be happy to be your best friend and tag along but have no idea where to go.

Dandaraga gave up quite a few nugs on the Paynes Find Road.

jEEZ mate 3 grams , 3 of yaz around  Meeka , turn ya detector on ... id be  staying  there ,home of the big slugs .itl only get worse the further south ya go maybe .
Anyhow Sandstone south within 15 km anywhere is a good chance , we wandered blind & found bits here n there , check who has the ground where you walk tho it was heavily pegged & some local pro boys had the monopoly on it .

The 6 mile guy wasn't the worry , unless you went there , the whole sth zone was a no go , blokes with special arrangements with companies & policed it , as always this could be old mail ... pay to check tho , there were ruff times for intruders in Sandstone a while back .
