point samson

thinking of going to point samson
next time i have 2 days off to do some
fishing,does anyone know of any good
fishing grounds and for camping
as i have never been there but sounds
like a nice place to go

fishermans basket at the pub is great :) Good views too. Top spot to while away a few hours.

theres a camping gound at point Samson, might pay to book? had a muck around in the little creek mouth before you get to point Samson by the fish hatchery one Rdo and got a few little aussie fish they kinda looked like snapper with yellow fins??

if you wanna camp somewhere and fish, go to cleaverville.
try ya luck in the creek with the Jack, best of luck with them. when the tide is in, fish everywhere along the beach. Have fun.
also around cleaverville, you can detect. just get ya knowledge about salty ground up to scratch.

Might be too late, but take plenty of horse fly cream, sandflies are bad news around mangroves!!!!
Or mix baby oil, metho, Dettol in a sprayer, old fashioned deterrent !!!

When your in the pub there, ask for around for a couple of brothers i know, John or his little brother Ian Kraus.
They have been trawler skippers up that way for years and call Pt Samson home.
They are a really nice family and I'm sure for some swabbie work, they'd be happy to take you out for a trawling trip.
