Hiring or leasing a detector?

Hiring or leasing a detector?
Hi there,
when I fly to Australia next time (hopefully sooner than later), I would like to hire a detector. The one I had at home, before burglars went in, was a very oldfashioned one but working. I would like to try one before I spent the money of a small car buying a new one. Is there a place where I can hire those detectors?
Thank you for your help.
Somewhere around Perth or Kal would be nice.

Hi there,
well honestly: I can't live without visiting Australia.
So it depends how much holidays I have left and maybe in September or for Christmas, I will be back.
No, I can't move back permanently because I don't see any chance to get a job.
And as I am not a privatier, I need to work. Simple.
Thanks for the advice with Reeds, I will definetely visit them.
I checked out the homepage of Reeds. Looks like a damn expensive trip to Midland, as I am female, I can't stop shopping.
Maybe I go there by train, then I am limited to what I can carry.....
