cooking off amalgam mercury is very dangerous in the suburbs , can send the bogans next door completely off their rocker , pregnant women can have gimp babies etc . yep not a good practice , buy a retort & roast it in the bush .. if any thing & stand upwind .albo

But Yeah!! fully agree
Cant be over cautious enough when it comes to mercury burn offs, and not to hard
to make up a simple retort anyway

I bought about half a kilo of mercury of a friend the other day it belonged to his girls grandfather and I reckon it weighs a lot more than what it should so I will run it through a paint strainer to see if there is anything chunky in there .if so I will retort the chunky bits,you never know your luck as apparently this old bloke had the fever like us lot and he may have lucked onto some fines somewhere-I keep the container in another container full of water ,mercury is lethal don't ever think you are safe around it,even at room temperature it vents-dragon
