It's definitely to good to be true and the phone number is wrong. I just spoke to a young lady who has been getting swamped with calls about it.
sounds like set up to me.

Yep i enquired about a brand new 5000 on gumtree,it was a scam,i offered more than the asking price of $2300 then the woman emailed me back with a final price of $1750.
Minelab detectors have a serial number,and i am pretty sure there is a website to register your minelab detector in your name,incase i gets stolen,and to check if it is a genuine machine.The chinese make a copy that aparently has a "c" in front of the number."Be Aware !!"

Mate if anyone pays less than $5,600 for a 2nd hand 5000 then u certainly have to bee looking very closely..

If they r selling a 5000, like this asshole the other day where he was throwin in two grands worth of gold and u fall for that sort of bull shite --u deserve to loose ya money coz u would be a bloody idiot if u couldn't see through the shite..$2,800 --if people cant smell a pig then they should be paying for the oxygen they are breathing.

I read on the knitting club were a person sent of $100 to buy a bag of dirt from China laced with Gold, as iff----spare me will u --coz u could have donated that money to help homeless kids on the street and got better value...

same bloke Cliff--he is a dead armature and by looks of it trying to be a professional scammer..

what might happen is that someone will eventually buy this piece of shite then join the forum and tell us all what a dickhead he is--hopefully this wont happen --it has in the past unfortunately
