East versus West ??????

Well what can I say. East, West and bloody time zones.

We have been going just a little over a month and we like to think we are doing fine so far. It's a little unfortunate that us Westies aren't talking about gold or getting out much but, it really is our off season. I for one, don't want to put up with 40c (a lot more than that really) heat anymore.

We also don't have the luxury of a 1 or 2 or 3 hour drive to get to our goldfields and top that off with Monday to Friday jobs, it's just damn difficult.
I'm toey as hell and can't wait to go again. All I can say is, persevere with us mere mortals in Wubble U A, There's some good stuff to come.

Even better, tease us with ya stories and Pics. I'll hate ya for it , but I'll love seeing the yella stuff.

I've probably posted all my finds and they've been spotted by the smart people of this forum, I post some up after the ebay nuggs turn up...Oh sh#t, I'll get out again in the next couple of weeks cause it don't get hot over here in the eastside.

I'm trying my darndest to get out for a swing tommorow for an overnighter to sthn X,
been doin ok there for a piss poor alluvial field, best so far in a day 13 bits for over 7 grams
last time out there not long ago and thats good gold in anyones terms.

Plus i think the cutie at the BP wants to see me nuggets

My best mate (my wife Jo) and I are very lucky that we chose to retire to Dunolly in the Golden Triangle.
We can literally walk to several goldfields and have accesss to hundreds of hectares of good ground within an hour or less of home.
We can detect 7 days a week all year if we so desire. It's usuually 4-5 days and about 3-4 hours a day.
We find enough to pay for our hobby and love every minute of it.
We've met some of the nicest people and been to some beautiful spots.

I hope you all have the same good luck as we have in your retirement.

Gotta go... "she-who-must-be-obeyed" wants to go to a new spot.

What can i say. I went out yesterday and today. All i got was sunburn.

Went to 2 very good sites, but with no results.

Well i just sussed out the weather at southern cross for the next day or so and stuff me
wouldnt ya know, its gonna be hovering around 40 degrees with no cloud cover
Looks like ill be staying home and maybe hit the beach and hopefully find a gold ring or two..

There's always the advantage of finding some golden tanned bewdy's too

As soon as this rotten weather clears up things will come together over here and I'm sure as sh1t we will start seeing some lovely pics of wonderful nuggs from the land of where it all started.
I'm bloody keen ta get some new eastern gold up for ya's ta c!

It was -18° when I went of a swing yesterday morning.

Bit of wind made it refreshing.

Went to a patch close to home and got 4 lil ins for 2 grams. This area is the gold is small and shallow and resting on a false bedrock of clay.

GPX 5000 and a NFA Sadie.

Aint life funny, here i am and cant get out because its (40) degrees Celsius = 104 degrees Fahrenheit at my local spot,
and there you are detecting in (-18) degrees Fahrenheit = -27.7 degrees Celsius

Took me about 15 minutes in the chiller room at the bottle shop today just to pick up a slab

Nice gold Chris.
Save some for when I come up in the Spring
after it warms up to 50(F) or so.

Its Stibnite. In Northern Nevada it's considered a great indicator for placer gold when found in the clear quartz. The other is shale with a pseudomorph of limonite after pyrite. Another gold indicator.
