The wife and I are in the Territory visiting the daughter, son in law and grandkids out in Kakadu. I managed to catch up with an old mate (and make a new mate too) in Tennant and do a bit of detecting at night when it had supposedly cooled down. We didn't get much, about 12grams between three of us but it was an adventure and a great experience. No doubt there is some good gold around that area if you care to put the time in. I ended up with 4grams.

A couple of nice bits found by Dale Millar of Tennant Creek.

Some of the locals can give you a bit of a fright. A black headed python about 2 metres in length.

Thanks to Dale and Billy for showing me around and I hope to be able to return the hospitality when they get to WA.

We had a genset running a 500 watt flood next to the car just so we could keep our bearings. Led headlights we're more than sufficient to detect by though.
