whires TDI pro

i have an extreme and on making some enquiries re upgrading or getting timings changed, i was told, a bigger coil will just about get you to wherte a 5000 is minus the more sophisticated timings, so?

i have don a bit of reading about the TDI pro and am ionterested oin opinions, here in the west on them as against the above extreme?

Cant help on the Whites TDI Pro Jedda, but i can tell you absolutely nothing you do to any detector will bring it even close to a 5000 no matter what any spin doctor tells you.

yeahh pete, but this one sort of talked me out of a 5000 and didnt try to sell me anything,i did have someone i met in the scrub near cstlemaine try and talk me into sending the extreme to a expert in melb to play with the timings, this other bloke (dealer) said i would be better off in getting a larger coil than playing with timings

I would prefer the Extreme and leave it standard.
Better still, if you can afford the 5000 or a 4500!

Methinks your "guy in the scrub" and the so-called dealer were talking through their collective arses!

I am yet to hear of any SERIOUS detectorist complain about his/her 5000 saying it's a piece of crap.

The 5000 is the ducks guts, don't any detector molester tell you otherwise.
The blokes who tell you they are crap are the ones who don't have one or have never used them !
With Minelab's proven track record, I'm sure the 5500 ? will be better again !
Hopefully it will be out before I come to WA next year.

Same goes for inexperienced users bagging a modded Extreme.
Good machine made far better.
Most dealer rep,s ...are biased in this....$$$$$$ wonder why?
Sorry a bigger coil wont make it same as a 5000.
5000 is the best but dont kid yourself on timing upgrade /hot rock rejection mod on Extreme.Does exactly what it says..(Second post Guest!)
