any body heard or had a gpx 4500 modded .

Why stuff up what is probably the Worlds best detector?

A few modded 4500's in Karratha,some say there good but others say they done there dough.Got to agree with matelot, ya swinging the best so why stuff it up by tinkering with it.When the rush was on at the karratha patch 2 blokes asked myself and a mate if they could run the mod jobs over an un dug target as we were gettin onto a few at the time.In both mod settings 1 and 2 the targets could not be heard .Put the detector (4500) back into enhance and then they got a response.Can't recall the exact weight or depth of the slugs but they were around the 5 gram mark at about a foot.

i think i will keep it the way it is and trade up to the gpx 5000.

sounds like u need a bit of help if u already have a 45 and havent got it purring along..maybe its the size of the coil u r using.

on the other hand if u want to sell it then let me know..

i do quiet well with the old 4500 ,
just spent a week in old halls creek / tannami road , got myself 1.25 ounces in nuggets and 3.1 ounces in specimens .
i only get 2 weeks a year off , 1 week travelling and 1 week detecting .
will post pics in a few days after specimens come out of the borac.
the 24 x 12 elip . n/f and the 17 x 11 elip. n/f are the only 2 coils i ever use .
i am thinking of updating the 2 x nugget finder coils to the advantage series .
will wait till next year and get the gpx 5500.

been detecting since the sd2100 days , had every machine except the sd2200
found plenty of gold over the years .
been sitting back watching the forums over the years
never made any comment till lately.

You'll love the NF Advantage coils.
You don't need a modified detector they way you're going.
