Loaming for Gold

Watched an interesting movie on Netflix last night called "The Ballad of Buster Scruggs" which is made up of a series of short stories one of which is 'All Gold Canyon' starring Tom Waits as a prospector looking for a gold source using what is commonly known as 'Loaming' which was used extensively by Sam Cash in the Eastern Goldfields of W.A. that brought about some of the biggest gold finds there.
For those who have Netflix this gives you a good insight into how loaming is done & there is a book by Sam Cash detailing the art of loaming for gold.

I saw that movie a few weeks ago.  The way the movie started with the singing cowboy, did not look too promising.

However, as the movie progressed and I realised that it was a number of short stories, I really began to enjoy it.

The “All Gold Canyon” story was really interesting and well worth a watch.
