Does anyone know if you can still get these. They are a white bucket with a hand operated agitator and lid. Did find some where on the net instructions to make one. Just wanting anyone's thoughts on these and if they are worthwhile.

Goldie cheers

Do you mean something like this

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I know bamix used to make them years ago and you didn't need to use hot water.

As per instructions from Silverback we made a very simple, cheap and works a treat washing bucket.

1 - 20 litre bucket
2 - Plumber plunger - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Punch a series of small holes (12mm) around circumference of plunger.

That's the idea Cliff, the only thing different, didn't drill the hole in the lid.
As an alternative when we are on the move clothes, water and suds are added, lid fitted and the washing is done at next camp site.

still looks like manual labour--

Those little washing machines for $200 look good--something else to throw in the van.

Here's one under $100.00 for you Sheila's, if you're not too tired to start the genny and plug it in. HandiWash Clothes Washing Bucket 1632602647

we do like peter does, just 1/3 add dirty clothes and just cover with water and add powder seal lid and shove in back of car. all done by arrival at next spot or a after a day driving to and fro ground. if you let the bucket sit undisturbed for a day you can re use the water as the silt settles to the bottom and you can use the bucket as storage on the road. too easy and no work, and relatively no cost thats what i like... why waist time or energy to pump a plunger when the beers are cold and a callin. cheers

For a hand wash bucket - I got a nappy pail. With a lid from 'dimples'.  Then drilled a small hole in the lid and inserted a rubber gromet,  for when I just want to soak things.

For a plunger I got an old handle off a vacuum cleaner. It is adjustable by sliding/clicking into place.  On the end I pop riveted a black fuel/oil funnel in which I had drilled some holes.

couple of solutions for ya's

1.  put ya house on wheels and tow it behind you.  then you have all the mod cons of home   Suspect
2.  Ya camped out in the scrub, no one can see ya except roo's, emu's, bungarra's and the occasional dingo or wild dog and I can guarantee you there will be no flies anywhere near ya face  Very Happy    GO NAKED  lol!
3.  just wear ya clothes until they rot and drop off   affraid
4.  take a few changes of clothes until ya hit a caravan park to do a wash.

I reckon #2 is the way to go, it would be interesting    HandiWash Clothes Washing Bucket 1472621687
