Re: southern cross
very interesting Ray. they had it good with the gold but bad with the living conditions. the old timers sure were a tough bunch. 80% of todays prospectors wouldn't last a month.

Nah, just saying it as it is.
The best trips start with the 1st stop at the Pub, for 4-5 Pints, gets ya in the mood for an arvo detect in the heat.
Hey Cliff...?

Cliff now wears a nappy coz --well--he couldn't be bothered to get up.
I think the dunny roll is a cheaper option.

Re: southern cross
Potty and dunny roll cost too much as an optional extra.

Re: southern cross
by memory you boys headed up there for a chrissy run and it was scorching hot, yeah sounded like a blast of a trip. lost sunny's soiled camp chair[which I still get a chuckle ] and hot irish lass at the bar and even stumbled across a new spot which we've all smashed.
to be honest dieter I think I'm starting to lose me pashing for it mate, 5 sub gram pieces in 3 weekend trips for 2014. love being out bush mate but it does not excite me like it used to, just like a woman I guess

Well mate, I hearing you, Don't get out as often as others either. Patience and optimism come from hard yards, Cloggs went out twice as much as me this year and the one nugget I found on one of his trips still makes him cry because it still out weighs his tally. If only we had the time and $$$ others do mate, but the memories with trips out with old and new mates... PRICELESS.
