clay problem
since we have been out there doing a bit of work on the lease we still have this problem of clay balls --the gold is embedded within the clay and when we load it onto the dry blower it just seems to roll of the vibrating screen.

this was just a small sample of the problem that confronts us.
theres gold in that there clay and I need something that is going to basically overcome all this and turn it into dust so the riffle trays can do there job.
heres a couple of buckets with a sample of a creek 4' down. I am yet to smash it but hopefully will nail it in the next couple of days. heres hoping it comes up trumps.

Re: clay problem
conditioning the ground by running it through a scrubber / trommel first?
failing that might have to go to a wet plant

Re: clay problem
yeah Tom --a wet plant is too much paper work and bull* with the DMP unfortunately..
will see if we can come up with some sort of pulveriser which can do about 10 t an hour.
heres hoping anyway.

Re: clay problem
Ray it looks like you some sort of ball mill. Like a concrete mixer, perhaps in a larger scale with a few steel balls inside.

no small scale miner here, geez I don't even get to put a coil to the ground very often next weeks trip just got cancelled bugger. anyhow back to the subject I think moneybox is on to something, how's about a concrete agitator I'm sure there would be plenty off well used 1's in k.town.
I think they hold 5-7 cubes need a hopper set up to load when loaded crank the bugger up flat out then shoot it out
maybe the most stupid idea you all have heard, dunno I think it would work ???

Re: clay problem
Ray, if I remember correctly, out at Dampier there were stockpiles of iron/steel balls.
like Jase says, an old agi with a barrow load of the balls fed via a hopper might be the go.

Re: clay problem
theres nothing in dampier anymore--not even any sign of the old pellet plant.
I need something that I can load and pulverise the dry clay prior to being fed by conveyor into the dry blower.

Re: clay problem
How hard is the clay Ray?
I think I know where a small trommel screen is, that might do the task if they aren't too hard.
I will see if I can get you a pic this weekend.

Ray
you might be able to cut a deal on that old trommel not far from where you picked up your dryblower.... might be more work than it is worth
