I am now looking for anyone else keen to meet up untill next wednesday/thursday as after that, I am heading to cue to catch up with another couple for a week.
pm me if keen as I am sitting in my car warming engine as we speak.
cheers

Re: ready to go
back from a week in Que, lots of mud to navigate through and most roads were closed for the first few days. found a nice spot by day 3 on free ground where I picked up a little specie with about a g to 1.g g of gold (being generous)
good weather meant i could hit it hard so as the place was fullof old tin cans and trash i spent a day clearing it up and removing all hotrocks, thats when i found the penny then the specie close to each other. research showed the production period for the old mines were 1897 to 99, the penny is dated 1894. also found a few relics that I love and are quickly filling my trophy cabinet. all in all a great safe trip.
cheers all.

Re: ready to go
thanks guys, i think the triangular bit is a boot heel of some kind, although it has writing on the top but i cant make out the words.
I think the penny is the find of the trip Jase, dated 1894 and the mines around are dated 1897 to 99 and its in great condition being buried about 8 inches down. lots of junk around but some nice relics and some gold to boot.
the kid fought hard nuggiedreamer, but experience won out in the end i like the flat bottom on them.
planning next trip hopefully in a few weeks.

Re: ready to go
Hi Martin, Love the penny you found!! Nice little nugget. Sounds like a bit of a testing time but at least you found something.

Re: ready to go
Gasgoyne, the coin is worth about $400 mint condition, around the $70 for used and around $20 for worn so worth a small nugget i guess.
i did get to your leases Tom, a bit mussy in places but accessible, spent 2 days there but didnt find any gold. great ground though. lot of work been done out that way.
Yes I love the penny too AnnieL, best find for the trip. cheers.
next trip is to the Mt Magnet area in a few weeks, make hay i say.
