Re: 2014 FORUM MUSTER
I remember Hakey once sharing a story on Finders about swimming in a dam, life was good, out prospecting through the day and then cool down with a late afternoon swim, he went past the same dam in drought and the sight of all the dead carcasses in the bottom of the dam soon put an end to the brute prospectors dam swimming days.

Re: 2014 FORUM MUSTER
Jase, I don't know wether to thank you or the gold gods unless you are one and the same but the drought has broken. We found our first bit of gold on the spot you suggested. We got one little 1.44g nugget about 100mm down in the rock. We continued to look for it's mummy or daddy but it must have been cast out alone. Now it has a family who love it

Sorry guys and gals it's taken so long but we've just arrived in Leonora so have some internet. Here's a couple of photos taken of the group who made it..

Thanks everybody for a great muster. We learned a lot and it was great to put names to faces. Hopefully we'll have some more photos to follow when we've put what we learned into practise.

Re: 2014 FORUM MUSTER
Sandra managed to win the wooden spoon award for returning without a rattle in the bottle... well the equivalent in the way of a prize from the DWAG sponsors.
Thanks to all the sponsors for the prizes. It was much appreciated. She's more determined than ever to prove those wrong who have told her that her little White's won't find gold.
Perhaps she's just looking for the wrong stuff..

When you can't find gold you just have to try to muster up some good luck any way you can...

Seems there were more relics out there than gold. At least there're a few less pretty rocks in the boot
I've put in a request for the yellow stuff instead.

Re: 2014 FORUM MUSTER
We're back in Leonora tonight and we have some internet so we have a bit of catching up to do.
I reckon Sandra was just holding out for the wooden spoon prize because as soon as the muster was over she dug her first nugget. It's a nice little 2.27g found with the White's Goldmaster.
She was tired of digging tiny little pieces of sieve wire, tacks and other junk. She nearly didn't bother but it was her last dig on the way back to the bus for a break after a long day of frustration. It was worth the dig!!
The same day I managed to dig up a little one as well. Not as good as Sandra's but 0.87g.

Re: 2014 FORUM MUSTER
a few more
phew,,
next pics are of a parrot nest we found in a hollow part of the tree next to our camp, the mum always arrived just on dusk followed by the dad, he squarked around to distract whatever was around so the mum quickly ducked in to the hollow branch, thats how i found the nest, after she was settled the dad worked his way into the nest for the night. they headed off early morning and i waited for a few hrs then quietly took these shots of inside the log best i could with a phone. made great pics with the 4 or so chicks visible. great state we have eh.
