Perth mint charges GST on coins minted in gold and silver to Australians but foreign investors pay no tax
Plus the Australian government gives a perth mint silver coin a value of 1 aussie dollar but charges over 3dollars in gst fees at current rates.Plus dealers fee: and redeeming this as being legal tender at any financial institution in australia for 1 dollar ( if you are silly enough to do it) instead of selling it back to the mint or a bullion dealer for its current silver value. ( the aussie government tries to screw u at all avenues.........
aussies buy 10k in gold coins -------foreigners get it gst free for 9k
100 million in gold coins to foreigners-------- means to government loss 10 million in GST revenue.
Now make that figure about 4.5 billion a year and that is a loss of 450million a year......in federal government revenues......
Remember this is in coin form and not bullion form........

When departing Australia, non-Australians such as international tourists can recoup all their GST from the ATO or Customs. They simply complete a form, attach the receipts and get the money back.
