geez:

Its funny how u still meet people in the bush who have access to a computer yet don't join any forums
or any prospecting sites to maybe pick up a point or two.

A lot of these people don't even know about the forums or don't even bother to surf the net looking for info,

Don't know what we have to do to enlighten more people about the virtues of these info power houses..

Maybe some members have an idea or two that we can use to surprise the lay people out there..

Perhaps there wouldn't be so many uninformed people roaming the goldfields if they were forum members.

Totally agree with you Robert and it's unfortunate but there are people who really don't know the rules and there are those who just don't care about them.

I agree with you Cliff. In our 6 weeks in the fields of WA we had access to a heap of P leases, in writing, direct from the lessee. It p*ssed my Dad and I off that we had gone to the trouble of getting permission, but quite a number of people that we ran into on these leases and talked to had no permission at all. When we asked, they just said " we don't give a f#ck, we just go where we please " ! Shocked
It's an unfortunate attitude, and along with all the rubbish we found left by prospectors, it will make it harder and harder for us as the years go on ! Evil or Very Mad
Cheers,
Rick

Rick,

Even prior to when I once again started owning my own leases, I predicted that all this trouble would happen. The consequences are now that really good people are being abused and misread by pastoral leaseholders, tenement holders and companies. I used to let people on my leases providing they asked before they went there. But now I've had enough.

This last season I "ejected" 14 people on different days from one lease just outside Leonora. Six of those were in 48 hours and one was an ex-cop!!

It'll get worse before it gets better.

You will probably find the other 5 were Ex-coppers too. Just told you a different story........ Shame you did not see the other 12 that were dressed as salt bushes.

Gidday Ric,
When Dad and I were in the Leonora area, we were getting internet connection up to 39km out from Leonora at the British King mine. Its all about line of sight from the Telstra aerial, so if you can find a decent hill, its surpising how far out you can get it !
If you have a look at the lay of the land north of Leonora, it has a general upslope from roughly 440m to about 515m at the mine I mentioned, and there are numerous hills in between where you can also get service.
Cheers,
Rick

Hehe,
how do u ask ya mum if shes insured?.
She reckons I wont find a wife doin "that gold digging job".
But I say "that's cause theres not very many gold diggin wifes around mum",
and that's ,that.....'no pun intended'..
Which brings me to an idea, I type before I think,
A new thread perhaps,

Hi All,

We're 30 0dd K's north of Leonora on leases that we have "permission for" and to get an internet connection I just use some of our extendable annexe poles and fit two or three together and jam them against the spare tyre and the back of the van and no worries, just add more if still not there.

Cheers Ron And Sherri and Cat(Yoda)

PS: All the signs say no fn gold left, I tend to agree(slim pickins)

As far as coppers go, iv never been big on em, but when I was a resident in Meekathara I was approached by one & he asked if he could come bush &camp/ prospect on my ELS which I had at the time as he had long servive leave & 3 months off. Not a lot of gold was found, we both got ok bits ,he was a great fella.
After being posted to Marble Bar 2 years or so later ,he sadly passed away I heard , heart attack ,with respect , RIP Ernie Negro.
