Gim, glad I'm not the only one who likes pubs you must have been standing on the overburden heap while I was sitting there having a coldie at Ora Banda pub and it's a pity the peacocks are gone from Kookynie

Re: Off again--swinging
Good pub last time I went through there , 10 years or so , we were the only customers , good tucker , the pool tables were ripped up badly but ,good atmosphere , the most memorable thing I remember about the place was the wheel cap collection all over the walls , it was immense , hope its still the same.
Sandstone pub was another that had old artifacts from the old gold rush era in the 1800s.
Another was the corner pub in Mt Magnet in the 1980s that still had a WW1 water cooled Vickers Machine gun hanging off the middle bar wall .
as publicans come n go they all seem to burgle this great history bit by bit when they leave unfortunately .... then there was the great Tambrose paintings in the Grand etc
The list goes on , cheers albo.

Yep Kookynie pub is still owned and run by Margaret & Kevin, and is still for sale.
I had a couple off the wood there last nite as a couple of showers went through,
I haven't found a piece this week YET, but some blokes I bump into occasionally
found 30oz in six days about 45mins away. Cant wait to see them again to hear the story first hand. on that note im going out to look for some hopefully new ground instead of going over past hammered areas.good luck all.
