Gold on my first trip!

Hi everyone

I'm a new member here and also a newbie to the world of gold prospecting.

I recently went on my first prospecting trip, with a friend who's been doing this for 30 years. I hired a GPX5000 and with some help setting it up, off I went.

On the 1st day, I found a spring washer. On the 2nd day it was a piece of wire, but on the 3rd day I found a 0.5gm nugget!

The next day I lost my handheld GPS when the strap on my harness, which it was clipped to, came undone. Not to be put off, I spent 3 hours searching for it and finally found it!!

On the day before we were leaving, I found an 82gm specie/nugget. Since I've been home, it's been soaking in acid and every few days I've been cleaning the rock out of it, then soaking it again in fresh acid.
Although it now weighs 66.8gms, it's pretty much all gold now....still a pretty impressive piece.

I hope I haven't put the mocka on myself for future trips!!

taking a veteren prospector might of had some thing to do with that result

I was sort of left to my own devices, as the other guys buggered off on their quad bikes!

It was great fun and I'm looking forward to going again.
