Microsoft Silverlight Empty Microsoft Silverlight

Post by Goldiewa Fri 02 Dec 2016, 9:49 pm

Has anyone had any problems with loading Microsoft Silverlight onto their PC. Everytime I try I get an error message and can't
load it. I cannot access information on mines dept site without this programme loaded. Any help would be appreciated.

microsoft does not support silverlight anymore, they dumped it. you will need to run internet explorer for dmp programs.

Not quite sure mate I just open tengraph and it was ok. Did you download the citrix program, is it tengraph your trying to access or geomap?

I mostly use these now.
http://wageology.dmp.wa.gov.au/wageology/
and
Geoview for tablets.

a new program will be released soon, was early december but could be in March last I heard. It will lay tenements and every other bit of info including minedex and will be GPS functional out in the field.

I use firefox and a few weeks back I had trouble accessing tengraph. the only way to fix the problem was to change firefox settings to remember "History" and that fix was suggested by DMP themselves.
I'm not sure if IE has that option but you could try it.
They also tell me the new system will be similar to Geoview.
Cheers

Goldiewa, what version of Internet explorer are you using and what windows version.
You can download Microsoft silverlight as a stand alone installer, this sometimes fixes problems caused by incompatibility or anti virus programs that stop installation of vital support programs..

Help here https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/kb/2608523

Download new version here http://filehippo.com/download_silverlight/

Thanks for your help. Will try this and see how I go. I am using version 11 Internet Explorer, Windows 10. Its not tenagraph thats the problem, its accessing the other areas of DMP like Wamex, Geoview, etc you need silverlight to access these.

I'm a great believer in conspiracy theories especially when it comes to government. I truly believe the day will come, if CB gets in again, we will have to pay an annual fee to access the DMP data bases, such as Geoview, Geomap and the Downloads which at the moment are free.
Never put your trust in a WA government.
