well I have had a go using silverside, cut thin, honey and soy with garlic --all in a Tupperware dish and been tossing it and hand mixing to make sure its all coated--skilfully placed in a dehydrator--5 tier model and now its been on for 24 hours but reckon its got another 24-36 hours to go..its a slow jerky I thinks so.

will just have to wait and see.

the next time round will go back to my original recipe..

made a bit myself ray, made a nice chilli and garlic but the problem is that didnt last long enough to use out bush also made some texan bbq sauce jerky that a mate showed me the recipe for, it was beaut. you can do it in the sun rather than a dehydrator, works faster just keep it covered.

I usually cut the meat into thin strips and hang them on a rack outside then I turn on my workshop fan and within a 24 hour period they are ready--no flies either.

now that looks like some tasty jerky Ray, looks like a good dehydrator, is it faster than the standard plastic ones?

it takes about 5 hours ---depends how moist u want it--if u like dry jerky then 6+ hours.

does a very good job....I'm excited..mind u this one is plastic and easy to clean.

as that cooking sheela said--I could wet myself--- lol!
