You are absolutely right Oneday. We are lucky here in WA; a huge area of auriferrous ground to choose from, and still
free of tax. What more can one ask for?
Once you harbour the gold bug, even not finding large chunks makes you happy. Very Happy

Thanks for your comment Phil. Most of it I found within a few weeks, but prior to that I went for a long stretch without
anything, as I mostly search virgin ground. It does promise good finds, but you need to be prepared to go for long periods
dry, until that vital first nugget is unearthed.
Also venturing further out brings its own set of perils; especially when floods cut your tracks back to the bitumen.
Still, I find that a calculated risk is quite in order, as long as one has patience to sit tight when required.
Cheers, Steady Eddie

Have no fear Mark, our hobby is rich and interwoven with techniques
that can only be mastered through diligent work on the ground.

Looks like a great reward for all your hard work. Hopefully there's plenty more to follow through the festive season. I'm a little too impatient to put in the hard yards. Good work Steady Eddie.

Thank you AnnieL Big finds are great; but smaller hauls have their advantages too; for one: not everyone comes running
after you for your riches!

Nice words for a fever stricken, Au hungry individual.
In fact, one of my strong traits is patience; because I know in the end the golden sheen of a colour will brighten my
effort. It is just a question of time. The sound of dingos at night; the occational passage of camels and emus at early dawn, all help to endure the other side of the coin: dust, storms, heat and flies.
It all passes by in an everlasting, perfect balance. If we don't upset this equilibrium, we are well on the way!
Good wishes,Steady Eddie
