Nice pieces Tom, the 2300 looks like the detector to use on the flogged ground alright and to pick up bits at 6 inches deep that's excellent.

Just curious flying kiwi, that doesn't. Look like goldfields ground. Too many gum leaves on ground, maybe nearer to Perth? Nice find by the way.

there are many places known around perth (although toms spot may not be local) for gold, toodyay, pinjarra, northam to name a few, trove has some interesting reading on finds but a few of the darling range "finds" were salted so do the research. also fine gold is found in boddington and donnybrook, try to follow the leads to find the reefs they come from. a few of the winter creeks around serpentine can produce panning gold and you never know maybe a remnant nugget. I have never tried local so this is all from reading and research so take it with a pinch of salt. good luck goldie. oh the dams around perth like harvey dam etc as they dry out are great for coins and rings etc. Very Happy

yea its more of a bit of fun and a personal challenge to see it you can fish out a bit and prove up theory or bit of research ive done, the last 3 times I went to this area I got nothing, you will get better average's in the normal spots for sure.
I have come to the conclusion there are bits of gold scattered all over this state just the amount varies
