4WD wheel rims
On my old nissan & tojo, I had split rims and I always carried spare tubes. Can you still get split rims or have modern 4wd's done away with them.

Re: 4WD wheel rims
Pretty sure Toyota still have them on there commercial landcruisers, have a look on flea bay theres always a few there.
I watched a bloke at Cobar tyre place change 2 of mine (16" splits) as i have never done one.
Bloody quick and effortless, i asked him about the spilts if they ever fly off?, he looked at me then pointed to the patched holes in the roof Hmmmm ill take that as a yes then.
Cheers

Re: 4WD wheel rims
they can be a little dangerous if ya don't hammer the lock ring while inflating. I spent 20 years changing truck tyres and I've seen one of them come off. I spent an hour searching the scrub for it, never saw the sucker again.
but nice to know you can still get them tho.

Re: 4WD wheel rims
Yeah...they still appear on ebay. Usually from guys with Troopies.
I believe you must use them if your going to put 10-16 ply tyres on.
